Community Service Activities
Mission Hospitals
- Junior Volunteer Leader of St. Joseph’s Campus. In addition to my 5 years and over 2000 hours of volunteer service I have recruited 7 schoolmates to contribute their time to Mission Hospitals.
- 7 hrs/week during school year; up to 35 hrs/week during vacations
- Over 2000 volunteer hours total Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior years
Baltimore Veteran’s Administration Hospital
- I assisted in a thallium 201 stress test for a veteran during my participation in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in Washington D.C.

- I work in the Dining Hall and I am responsible for serving and assisting elderly residents during their dining.

Athletics
Varsity Cross Country
- I competed with the Varsity Cross Country Team since my sophomore year. My first year in Cross Country I received the Reed Finlay Award and perpetual trophy as the most improved athlete on the team. I improved from mere completion of a 5K run to a time of 22:28 which enabled me to qualify for the state finals. I also qualified and participated in the State Finals my Junior year. I am currently working on breaking the 20 minute barrier for my Senior year.

Varsity Track
- I competed with the Varsity Track Team. My primary events were the 800 meter and 4 x 800 meter relay team. I participated in the winning 4 x 400 Relay Team (Galloway/Matthews/Freeman/Wilkins) during an intramural competition held at Asheville School in my Junior year holding up the second stint of the relay.

Varsity Wrestling
- I competed with the Varsity Wrestling Team my Sophomore and Junior years. I participated in our team victories against Oak Ridge Military Academy and Asheville School.

Drama
- Cast member (Officer Brophy) of Christ School production of Arsenic and Old Lace my Freshman year.

Additional School Activities
Job Proctor
- I was a member of the Hamner Alumni Center maintenance crew and in my Junior year was named Proctor. My responsibilities as Job Proctor include overseeing the completion of all cleaning duties.
- 2 hours per week 9 months a year; Sophomore, Junior, Senior years
- In my Sophomore year I was a member of the Dining Hall cleaning crew. My duties included cleaning tables, sweeping and mopping floors and garbage disposal.
